Thank you for a thoughtful reading of a deeply troubling situation. Unlike your prediction, I didn’t get mad, but perhaps that’s because I don’t have a side. I just keep thinking about indigenous people trapped on Gaza-style reservations with few resources here in the US and in Australia. The numbers and guns of European Americans overwhelmed native residents. The numbers in Gaza, however, are too large to overwhelm without reproducing a holocaust-like environment. Israel’s survival as a civilized nation may well depend on tapping into its citizens’ humanity.
