Oh, I get it. (I was a college professor in Houston during 9-11). I’ve dealt with a lot of (to borrow from you colleague) ostricholics. Your board prez is clearly one. They want the title and trappings of a position (say college dean or university VP, just off the top of my head) but don’t have the guts, cojones, or whatever to make the tough calls.

They didn’t tell you Snook threatened you because they KNEW you would demand action. They’re gutless, so they went into ostrich mode. Keep your “head on the swivel” not just on your walks but in meetings with the ostrichocracy.
