I'm particularly concerned at one myth this article seems to perpetrate. Black men are not just on the "accused" side of the justice equation. They are also disproportionately victims. In fact, although black people are only 5.2% of the SF population, more than 50% of 2019 murder victims were black. Don't we want some black people to stand up for these victims? The role of the district attorney is to do just that, to stand up for crime victims. If a public defender like Niki Solis who often sparred in court with Harris saw her as the most progressive of district attorneys, then isn't she is worth listening to?
Harris has already explained her role and even some of her regrets as district attorney and attorney general of the fifth largest government of the Americas (the largest being the USA, the rest being entire nations). She has explained several times. Those who are truly interested will review her record honestly.
But bear in mind, this is not just about her record. If the calls to Mr. Muse were about her record why does he have to remind them to check Pence's record? If records were the issue, they would have already done the comparison. There is a reason the word "misogynoir" exists. I remember one black man in my career who preferred to have racist incompetent whites rather than competent black women in positions of power. He clearly saw the rise of a black woman as a criticism of his manhood, while the racists whites were just the status quo.
Tr*mp, the multiply bankrupt, admitted assaulter of women, who partied with known and eventually convicted pedophiles, and who regularly insults black men and women with racist and sexist stereotypes has put babies in cages, some of whom have died. Meanwhile annual mass murders and murders of Jews, Latinx, and Muslims have increased. Over 170,000+ Americans have lost their lives, while millions have lost their livelihoods. How on earth can ANYBODY be questioning a competent fearless public servant like Kamala Harris?
To quote James Brown, ya'll haters need to "get on the good foot."
